Following the successful workshop in Hermanus, which drew delegates from across Africa, the International Council of Science (ICSU) has confirmed it will assist in the development of an INGSA Africa Chapter. Professor Mohamed Hassan of Sudan, former President of IAP and TWAS has agreed to act as patron and mentor. Currently, in development, the chapter has established an inaugural steering committee that includes Christian Acemah (Uganda), Tolullah Oni (South Africa), Sameh Soror (Egypt), Renee Street (South Africa), and Oladoyin Odubanjo (Nigeria). We look forward to developing INGSA Africa and the opportunities for enhanced collaboration that it will bring.
