Overview: A quarantined or isolated person who has been identified by court order as the person responsible for arranging or providing for the health care needs of a dependent adult (over the age of 18) may accompany the dependent adult to a pre-arranged medical appointment when it cannot be rescheduled. In this case, the isolated or quarantined person may leave their home on the day of the appointment to attend the health care facility. This person must advise the health care facility of their circumstance and adhere to all the instructions provided by the staff. The person should don a face covering at the health care facility if not already wearing one when they arrive. The person should use private transportation if possible or maintain physical distancing and wear a face covering if they use shared transportation. If accompanying the dependent adult to the hospital for admittance, the person shall comply with all advice and guidance from the hospital and staff or dispatcher if a first responder is required. This intervention aims to ensure that dependent adults receive necessary medical care even when their care taker has a confirmed case of COVID-19.
