Overview: The Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic has informed key departments and regional public health authorities of the situation, and the epidemiological situation is being continually monitored. Guidance has been issues to all regional public health authorities and relevant departments. People who are present or have recently returned from affected areas should avoid local markets for the sale of fish and live animals and crowded places, observe strict personal hygiene, in particular thorough hand washing and food hygiene, 14 days after arrival from affected areas must check their health, and contact a doctor or inform them about their travel history in case of clinical signs upon returning.
