Overview: The Dutch Government has initiated a so-called ‘appathon’ from the 18 to 19 April 2020. The aim is to test and improve the operation of apps proposed by businesses and experts as part of the Government’s call to use digital solutions in tackling COVID-19. Seven out of the 700 proposals have been selected to participate in the appathon.

Organizations, independent experts and interested parties can watch and make recommendations online during the appathon. The Government will make a decision before 28 April about the use of apps to help trace COVID-19 infections and report on health issues.
